The Braided Bar came to us as an already successful salon based in Yorkville, but with a website and identity that did not reflect its founder’s vision.
With all her time being dedicated to the appointments her clients book, she entrusted Atelier 22 with the very important mission that was to redesign her website, help create the media that would go on it and make sure everything aligns with what she has in mind.

The Approach

The Braided Bar shares its space with 6ixBraids so they can cater to two different clienteles: one focuses on a feminine presenting audience, while the other focuses on a masculine presenting audience. We therefore decided to separate their two clienteles’ paths right on the homepage, instead of having the two options only present on a dropdown menu.
The Booking Page

The founder wanted to keep her initial scheduling system as it has her entire client and database, so we rearranged its presentation: as the business is named The Braided Bar we only thought it would be fitting to display its services in a menu-like fashion.
Instead of having a list of services like they initially did, we reorganized them in categories and made sure each service was directly linked to the corresponding one on the scheduling system.

The Creator Program Page

As a business with a social media presence, The Braided Bar naturally receives a number of inquiries for collaborations, more than they can individually field. We only thought it would be fitting to create a form that could help them navigate those requests, with tiers based on follower count, a field for content type, the platform they first encountered the business on, and a space for them to let the business know what type of collaboration they would like to pursue.

The Result
The Braided Bar’s menu now leans into its bar side, with a palette made of earthy tones and elegant serif typography that keeps it classy but approachable. As they expand the salon, the website is ready to receive more services, and additional world building surrounding the bar aesthetic.
Since the website redesign (as well as our social media takeover), bookings for The Braided Bar’s services have increased by 38%, website visits increased 65%, with the number of unique visitors being up by 59%.
