THE GOAL:

The goal here was to deliver a website that represented the founder’s new vision for her brand through comprehensive web design. Nicole wanted her esthetician background to show through a more clinical look without sacrificing the baby blue highlights of her brand or its youthfulness. Clinical without being rigid.

THE APPROACH

Homepage : The Shop Side

While Skin and Soul offers both treatments and its own skincare line, we simplified the homepage to highlight the new “Let’s Bounce” product line. We also reinforced the clean and minimalist look that the founder desired through a white background and sans serif typography, leaving the pop of colours to be added by the media.

The Spa Side

The Spa side of Skin and Soul targets the clients that book treatments in their New York Spa.
That part of the website is less product-focused and instead centres real benefits and results.

Services Integration

We embedded the Vagaro booking system into the Skin and Soul website to avoid additional steps for clients booking services. They can book their next treatment directly on the page, and also see the many before and after photos that make up the “Real Results” gallery. Removing the extra step of bringing clients to a third-party site also promotes more bookings, as well as directly showing the possible services to potential clients that might’ve wandered onto the website initially just for products.

Shop Navigation

By Concern

As Skin & Soul’s mission is focused on science-based results and delivering skincare that is safe for sensitive skin, we made sure to use of images of real skin instead of just naming the concerns or using illustrations. The focus on skin texture was important to both the founder who works with many different skin types every day and to our clinical concept.

By Product Type

We also made sure to offer the option of navigating the shop by product type.
As Skin and Soul has a core following that very often refills orders and already is knowledgeable about which products targets their concerns, letting them browse by product type was an important focus to enhance their user experience.

THE RESULT

Skin and Soul’s website is a minimalist introduction to its brand and story as well as a useful tool for its clients, both the ones that only engage with its product side, as well as the real clients that book facials with Nicole in the treatment room. It is an extension of the work she does as someone who treats skin directly in her chair as well as through her efficient products backed by science-based formulas.
